You can use bufferapp.com (or a similar app) to schedule 10 free tweets ahead of time, just in case you forget. You can get Buffer for mobile as well.
This tweetout is designed to trend, but we still need plenty of people to make it happen! Here are the most important points:
1. DON’T tweet the hashtag until the time of the event.
2. Schedule at least a few tweets with https://bufferapp.com or http://futuretweets.com (or something similar), even if you plan on being there (and especially if you can’t make it). Make sure your time zone is set correctly in these apps, and that you figure the time zone of the event for your area! You can run a test (without the hashtag) if you’re not sure.
3. Try not to use any other hashtags with the main hashtag. This will help the hashtag trend.
Check the “About” section on the details link (http://bit.ly/iamalmosthuman) if you want to do more. All points are in order of importance.
Here’s a little more clarity on time zones:
The tweetout takes place at 7pm EDT, on May 12, which is GMT-4. I helped someone who lives in Paris, France, at GMT+1, which means she sets her tweets for 12am, May 13. Someone in Italy was at GMT+2, so she has set her tweets for 1am, May 13.
There is also a discussion of this on the details link, where you can find and share images to use during the tweetout. You can also use images when scheduling tweets on http://bufferapp.com, even if you use the Buffer app on your smartphone.
